The Chronicle / Principles
Editorial standards.
We are building The Yacht Chronicle as an independent publication. The following standards guide the development and publication of our editorial work.
Accuracy and verification
Reported facts, specifications, prices, dates and practical travel information should be checked against reliable sources. Where figures depend on time, location or assumptions, these conditions should be clear.
Originality and attribution
Our goal is to bring readers original reporting, useful synthesis and firsthand perspectives. Third-party photography, quotes and research must be credited and used with appropriate rights.
Independence and commercial relationships
Editorial decisions should not be controlled by paid partners. Advertising, sponsorships, gifted access and affiliate relationships should be disclosed clearly whenever relevant.
Corrections and updates
Substantive corrections should be made when verifiable mistakes are discovered. Publication and meaningful update dates should reflect actual editorial changes.
Publication status
At launch, homepage story previews may describe planned features rather than completed articles. These previews must not be mistaken for verified reporting.
